When working with the mok yee pai, one of the main focuse is on togetherness. This is of utmost importance for the Tibetan Kung Fu to be effective. When the Hop Gar student throws a correct punch he uses the entire body for the single purpose (the punch is not delivered solely from a shoulder turn). In addition ther is no snap on the end of the punches like in western boxing. Instead, the power is delivered more like a wave and focus on squeezing is high. This feeling is gained by working with the mok yee pai. Each time you work with the blocks you should feel more and more “together.” this body unity will pay off not only in the overall physical conditioning but also when fighting.
